let me explain.
Many of the people I spoke with ( and by the way this is correct for 80 % of people working in the corporate world ) when asked if they like what they do usually have 3 types of responses :
▶️ I love my job but… ( and then there is a long list of complains how can it get better - when most often it is about either to have less stress , work less and earn more )
▶️ I love what I do but my job is too much stress so I am looking to move to another workplace ( with a hope that it will be less stressful there )
▶️ I hate my job and I am doing it just because that is the only thing I know how to do or have done forever .
Now lets break it down for a minute :
If you are happy with what you do and where you are - then embrace it with all the good and the bad and don’t expect things to change themselves .
If you are not happy - you should ask yourself this :
𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑑𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑏𝑒𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟 ❓
𝐴𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑏𝑒𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑜𝑟 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑤𝑎𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑣𝑒𝑠 ❓
One thing I have learned about expectations is that most of the time they will lead you to disappointment.
And keep on complaining about the situation without taking any actions to change it is totally CRAZY and that’s what keep people stressed and with no ability to act .
There are those who take the courage to look outside of their 9-5 and if they look closely they see many people that were just like them - stuck in a vicious cycle of complains that did things differently and managed to in fact create something ( be it a business they work in or work on - and I don’t want to get into that here ) that they are happy and fulfilled with and allow them to generate the same income ( and much more in most cases ) .
Many times though when you look on people that were like you and ‘ made it ‘ in a sense - creates a cognitive dissonance that makes you even more stressed here is why :
You know its possible ( because you see it ) and you feel it is possible for you as well - but your brain keeps on pulling the brakes by creating limiting beliefs and overwhelm that just draws you back to the same place you are in .
Now - if you are one of those people : I can tell you that you can do that too - and what I mean is to find the right way for you to transition to something that is more fulfilling , less stressed and generate more income and it is true be it online or offline .
There are 3 main things though that are required in order to overcome this overwhelm and limiting beliefs and it does require some internal and external work - but it is possible and here are those things ;
➡️ 𝐶𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑎 𝑟𝑜𝑎𝑑𝑚𝑎𝑝 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑔𝑜 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑝𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑡 𝐴 𝑡𝑜 𝑝𝑜𝑖𝑛𝑡
You see - people tend to be afraid of the unknown - which is pretty normal.
Now think about it - if you see ONLY the starting point and the end point WITHOUT knowing or at least having an idea of what is happening in between then FEAR will always pull you back .
So the first thing to do if you really want things to change is to MAP out what is your starting point, what is going on with you currently , what is your destination and what suppose to happen in between to get there .
MOST IMPORTANTLY - WRITE IT DOWN ON PAPER - never keep things in your head !
➡️ 𝐺𝑒𝑡 𝑐𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟 𝑜𝑛 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑑𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑜𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑟
Although it is pretty straight forward - people have a LOT of challenges with this one .
Think about it this way : if you are working in a 9-5 job try to look at how your day look like and you will discover that in fact you are offering services to your clients : you just do it on behalf of your workplace and utilising their resources.
Rarely though someone stops and think - what can I offer as an individual and what is my unique skill or ability that can be of service to others .This step requires some internal work for few reasons :
1. Because you have to stop thinking about yourself and start thinking about the people you are going to serve .
2. You will have to be honest with yourself ( without the daily BS you keep on telling yourself ) and get to know who you are , what you stand for and what you are good or not good at .
➡️ 𝐾𝑛𝑜𝑤𝑖𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑙
If you are planing to create a service you have to know how to sell it .
Although many people come from sales background or service providers it is very different when you sell a product given to you by a company that backing you up and selling your service as an individual .
(Thats why many people experience imposter syndrome or they have hard time to believe someone will buy from them or they just insecure in themselves ).
Like anything else in life though - it is a skill and any skill is learnable .
All the technical bla bla comes way after and should NOT concern you at all If you are just starting, planning to start or just looking at how to start changing your situation .
I can assure you one thing though :
If you will initially change your way of thinking from :
‘ Thats how things are and I can’t do nothing about it ‘
‘ Lets see what is possible and try new things ‘
New things will start showing up …
Are you ready to accept the change though ?
